Tony Hawk’s Series
This series is named after professional skateboarder Tony Hawk. The first title, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, was released in 1999. It was primarily an arcade game with the goal of getting the highest possible score through perfect execution of moves.

SSX Series
This series was first introduced in 2000. Players control any of the characters during snowboarding tournaments. Points are given by executing successful tricks while trying to finish ahead of the opponents. The race course has several obstacles that the player must clear.

Punch-Out!! Series
The first game was released in 1984 as an arcade game. The series has three recurring characters as well as real-life pixel versions of professional boxers like Mike Tyson. The player controls Little Mac as he tries to make his way up the rankings of the World Video Boxing Association.

Wii Sports
Wii Sports is part of the Wii Series. Released in 2006, it’s a collection of five sports simulations such as baseball, bowling, boxing, golf, and tennis. The players have to use the Wii Remote to swing, hit or imitate movements in sports.

NBA 2K Series
The first installment of the series was released in 1999 with Allen Iverson on the cover. It includes game simulations of seasons, playoffs, exhibitions and practice. The player also has the option to create a player or a team of his own.

NHL Series
The player can oontrol players and teams in simulated games based on the National Hockey League. The first installment was released in 1991 with Glenn Healy on the cover.

MLB: The Show
This simulation series is based on the Major Baseball League. The first game was released in 2006 with David Ortiz of the Boston Red Sox on the cover. It has season, franchise, home run derby, king of the diamond, and the show modes.

MLB 2K Series
This is another simulation of the MLB. Its first installment was released in 2005 with Derek Jeter on the cover. It has the following modes: franchise, exhibition, GM career mode and online.

FIFA Series
Marketed as FIFA Football or Soccer, its first installment was released in 1993 with the players Piots Swierczewski and David Platt on the cover. It’s considered one of the best-selling video game franchises of all time, owing to the popularity of the sport itself.

Madden NFL Series
The first title was released in 1988. Named after John Madden, it is known for its realistic player stats, playbook, and even voice commentary.

WWE 2K Series
This is based on WWE’s matches and programs. It has a story, GM, exhibition and universe modes. Players get to control a character during matches. The moves are based on the matches often shown in WWE’s television programs.
